The Start

They packed up the house and took it away in boxes. We cleaned the house. We turned in the keys to the house. Jenn left. I outprocessed the base. I left.

Officially, we are homeless bums. In a way, it is a very freeing experience.


1 July 05
Jenn left Boston on Thursday morning and stayed overnight at Ludlow MA. I left the base Friday morning and got to Ludlow to meet up with Jenn. We were to spend the day with the Pax's and leave for NY that night after dinner hoping the weekend traffic died down. We decided to stay the night and leave in the morning. Great decision although the Lemley's had something to say about it. We had dinner, sat on the deck, watched a movie, got a good night's sleep and hit the road after a few tears and some hugs. Another tough one. No traffic; a strange bonus.

2 July 05
We stopped at Steve and Janet's Sat for a BBQ. Attendees - Rob, Trish, Nick, Sophia, JoAnne, Christy, Adam, Nana, Dee and of course Steve, Janet, Steven, Lauren, Sean. It was a perfect day. Sunny but not too hot. Rob took over the grill. Steve worked on his new TV system. The ladies sat outside on the deck and chatted. I filmed it with my new video camera. The food was fantastic. After dinner, Steve and I did an impromptu Scotch tasting of what he had in the house, which was impressive. I was amazed at the difference and realized that $40 for Scotch really was worth it. I can't tell a difference between Johnny Gold and Green but Steve can, like night and day. I did instantly tell the difference in the Chivas. Nasty. Shortly after that, we decided it would be a great idea to light the fireworks Jenn brought. Sparklers for the kids, everything else for Adam. Adam did a great job lighting them off. Jenn lit several also, but it was more fun watching her run from the lit fuse than watching the fireworks.

3 July 05
The next day Steve took us to TOBAY on his boat. It is always so weird to leave the house and be in the bay in a matter of minutes. It is a whole different world on the water. We were to spend the afternoon on the boat of Jenn's friends; Bill and Maryola(who is our wedding photographer), Mike and Beth, Mike and Kristie and some of their friends. It was another beautiful day. Not too hot but sunny. When 6pm hit, we didn't want to leave. It was great seeing them. We talked about the wedding, when they will visit us in LA and when Jenn will be back to visit prior to the Wedding.

That night, Jenn and Dee went out for dinner and had some alone time. I went to a bar with Rich Bedell and we ate a little, drank a little and shot some pool. It was good spending time with him. Jenn picked us up and we went to the Anderson's for a little while before going home. We talked about retiring in Charlotte NC in the future, Rulon Gardner, the Jets and when we will get together for vacations in the future. I hit the bed and slept instantly.

Today I have made hotel reservations for Sanduskey OH and Chicago IL.
