The trip, in short summation - well, half the trip

New Jersey
We went to Jill and Michael's. Jill and Jenn have been friends for a long time and it was great for me to meet Michael and Jack, their son. We toured Jenn's old college, Fairleigh Dickenson, the surrounding town and have a great time with their family. Michael asked me if I had a boring desk job just like him. I knew we would be instant friends because it was asked in the same manner that I would have asked somebody - an interesting bond.

For some reason, I can't post any of the pictures, so unfortunately, we have to press on.

Cedar Point Ohio.
We stopped in Cedar point so I could ride the Dragster. It is a fairly new concept in rides. It shoots you at 120mph in 2 seconds straight up in the air, makes you scream a lot and then straight down. Jenn hates rollercoasters but decided to brave it. We ended up in the front seat. She did well. I was amazed. We tried another, smaller rollercoaster and Jenn hated it. It may prove to be the last ever for her.

Chicago - a great town
We really enjoyed Chicago. We ate deep dish pizza from a place that has been serving the same style and ingredients since the olden days. We also had a night out at a jazz club and listened to a local band. We bought a few cigars at Iwan Reyes, they too, have been there since the "olden" days. They exemplified the town. Friendly, helpful, nice, funny people. Plus the cigar store was awesome. Jenn and I had a great time touring the downtown area. Overall, I would love to go back - as long as it is in the Summer.

Little Canada Minnesota - aka Minneapolis

I have been friends with Mark Vijums since we were roomates in 1991-1993. It was a great chance for Mark and Robin to meet Jenn as well as spend time with them. They hosted us to two fantastic dinners and some nice wine, spent the day touring around the twin cities with Mark and of course, Jenn made best friends with the 3 daughters. We couldn't wait to see them again at the wedding.

Minot North Dakota
For those that don't know, I was born in Minot. It is a great town with great people.

Jenn and I arranged to stay with my cousin Doug and his wife, Kolette in Deering. Deering is where my Grandparents lived and through luck, Doug lives in their house today.

It was a great time and I have so many good things to say and so many memories, , , I can't put them all down.
The overwhelming welcome we got from my family was awesome. Jenn was a hit, as usual. Everybody loved her and invited Jenn to return ASAP for State Fair
Me, Oh yeah, bring Dan also.
Just kidding :)

Jenn went flying with Doug.
She didn't like it.
At least she gave it a shot.

Yes, , , the road is long and flat and straight. At least there is no traffic.
Janet, if you break down, somebody would stop. Yes, really. No, it would not be a psycho trucker trying to run you over. No, it would not be a serial killer. No, you will not die in the ditch and leave your family wondering what happened to you for the rest of their lives.
Out here, if you see somebody broke down, you pull over and help. It is not wierd. Love you :)
If you don't pay attention, which I don't, this is pretty much all you see in this part of the states.

When you pay attention, like Jenn does, this is what you see.

Words can't express how much fun it was to watch the county roll by - - but see it through Jenn's eyes. From the wonder of a yellow canola field to the everyday of a hay bale. It was more fun that I ever thought it could be.
Next up!!! - The South Dakota Monuments, Wyoming, Utah and the mad dash to Cali --the end of 3 weeks in a Montero.

YYYYEEEEAAAAHHHHH!!!! I was giving up hope of ever seeing another post again! Love the photos and very much love how your describe Jenn's reactions. I'm thrilled to know I'm not the only one in the family that hates small planes and roller coasters. :-)
